Hosting CHEI Forum, Broadening International Horizon--2018 CHEI East China Regional International Teaching Forum Successfully Kicked off

 

 

On the morning of October 12th, 2018 CHEI East China Regional International Teaching Forum, organized by ZUCC and the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation and hosted by the School of Business, successfully kicked off.

The Marriott China Hospitality Education Initiative (CHEI) is a charitable program of tourism and hospitality education under the auspice of the Marriott Foundation. The program aims to enhance tourism and hospitality education, leading to rewarding careers for young Chinese leaders in the field.. Since 2014, a firm partnership has been established between Tourism Management Department of the school of Business and CHEI, with frequent, close and fruitful cooperation in faculty internships, field trips, executive lectures, discipline competitions etc.

 

There were hundreds of professors from 45 colleges nationwide, a dozen staff from Marriott Foundation and senior consultants from United States, a dozen hospitality and tourism senior executives, as well as hundreds of students and staff members from Tourism Management dept. of ZUCC present at the forum. ZUCC Vice President Zhu Yongping, the Executive Deputy Dean of School of Business Zheng Jianzhuang, Ms. Joy Dong of Marriott Foundation attended the forum and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office Jin Haiyan and Deputy Dean of the School of Business Han Zhenhua were also present. All participants sought to promote the industry-university-research cooperation with CHEI Project, the charitable program from the world’s top hotel.
