What sparks will the new liberal arts + urban digital governance have?

Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the "Notice on Announcement of the First Batch of New Liberal Arts Research and Reform Practice Projects". The project "Exploration and Practice of Talent Cultivation of "Urban Digital Governance"" chaired by Professor Luo Weidong, President of Zhejiang University City College and Dean of Hangzhou Urban Brain Research Institute, was approved.

In order to further strengthen the interdisciplinary convergence, build a science and education innovation complex and help the construction of new liberal arts, the talent training of "urban digital governance" will realize the cross combination of digital and governance in each relevant core course, each textbook and each practical activity. The project plans to first try out the talent training reform practice of "urban digital governance", and explore the establishment of a systematic and complete scheme for talent training in the construction of "Digital China" and "Digital Zhejiang". Meanwhile, the Urban Brain Research Institute promotes the science and education innovation complex, gathers high-quality internal and external resources, and explores a new open collaborative education mechanism of value integration, functional complementarity and innovative element resource sharing. It coordinates discipline teachers and resources, breaks the original organizational barriers of majors, disciplines, colleges and departments, provides fertile soil for talent training with interdisciplinary and compound disciplines, and explores a new liberal arts talent training model that discipline and talent training are appropriately "untied".
