On the afternoon of September 12, Zhejiang Polytechnic Institute (Polytechnic Institute of Zhejiang University) held a grand opening ceremony to welcome the first batch of 300 freshmen from national industries for further education.  Xia Baolong, the Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Committee and the Director of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress and Jin Deshui, the Party Secretary of Zhejiang University jointly unveiled the nameplate for Zhejiang Polytechnic Institute (Polytechnic Institute of Zhejiang University).

     Establishment of Zhejiang Polytechnic Institute provided important opportunities for transformation and upgrading development of Zhejiang University City College.
