The New Era of Smart Medical Care, Thinking about Emergency Care in the “5G Mode” —— Notes of Director Jin Jingfen’s Special Lecture

The Year 2019 is called the first year of 5G commercial use in China. It is also from the beginning of this year that the topic of 5G medical care has heated up rapidly. “5G + medical care” has undoubtedly become a new direction for the development of the current medical industry. The application of 5G technology in the medical industry allows doctors and nurses to possess the exceptional function of “spatial-temporal shuttle”, eliminating the space-time distance between doctors and patients. The Department of Nursing specially invited Jin Jingfen, Director of the Nursing Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, to give a lecture on the new era of smart medical care and thinking about emergency care in the “5G mode”.

During the lecture, Director Jin introduced the “5G Remote First Aid Command Center” of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, which integrates a variety of cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, drones, etc., so that during the transfer of severe patients, the data such as the location of the ambulances, the patient’s electrocardiogram, ultrasound image, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature can be transmitted to the destination hospital synchronously, ensuring that the information between the hospital and the ambulance can be communicated and the information can reach the hospital faster than the patient. With 5G networks, experts can also provide remote surgical guidance. In the new mode of medical care with science and technology, we see the infinite possibilities of future medical treatment!
